An old favorite returns…

I had been reflecting on the old days of console gaming recently and recalled an old favorite: Earthworm Jim.

For those who are unfamiliar, Earthworm Jim is a classic side-scroller from the mid 90s
where you play the role of an earthworm (Jim) that hops around or, alternately, uses a humanoid spacesuit to navigate the levels. It has challenging gameplay, is artfully done, and is hilarious to play – the idle Easter Eggs alone are pure genius.

After a quick search, I came across an article mentioning a mid-summer 2010 re-release of the classic in HD. Naturally, I fired up the PS3 and bought it for the very reasonable price of $9.99.

Groovy!
